First And Only Madam Speaker Of The House, Nancy Pelosi

The recent documentary ‘Pelosi In The House’ by Pelosi’s daughter, Alexandra Pelosi captured the frames of struggles she had to go through as a mom and as a politically influential woman. It also showcased her contributions to preserving American democracy during the January 6 Capitol Attack which is a recent notable incident in her political career.

Alexandra stated that the documentary is not a farewell note to America’s Only Madam Speaker rather it’s a documentary about her mom as the essence of a human. The film focused on how Nancy Pelosi’s life paved the way into politics being the daughter of Thomas D’Alesandro J, who was another influential Congressman. Madam Speaker belonged to a staunchly democratic family. However, it was a unique achievement to have found a place in the male-dominated world.

Her voice stayed in the air upfront and she maintained her political image with utmost efficiency. Alexandra spoke about Nancy Pelosi’s documentary as ‘In the Moment’ visuals, which captured moments in their raw essence and communicated the feelings and emotions surrounding each moment. She documented it over three decades when the events actually happened.

The title of the documentary briefly connotes the clarified concept, of how Pelosi is at Home, her reactions, her thoughts, and her emotions among family members. It’s not about the legacy she left behind that is too high to fill in by anyone in line.

Nancy Pelosi: Genesis Of Pelosi’s Era

The majestic statement that still gives chills to the strong woman around, ‘I have the high privilege as the first President to begin the State of the Union with these words: Madam Speaker by George Bush. It all began from here. Council on Foreign Relations.

Nancy Pelosi

Pelosi, the daughter of mayor Thomas D’Alesandro was the only daughter of a congressman who raised Nancy Pelosi’s political career in her own definition. A tough lady indeed with her actions and speech.

The Baltimore girl, graduated from Trinity College, Washington, in 1962.

In 1963, she married a businessman named Paul Pelosi(1). The real birth of her career started when she volunteered for the Democratic Party. A remarkable twist came in when she got elected as the first woman to hold the position of House Minority Leader in either chamber of Congress. One of the toughest voices was heard in the US invasion of Iraq in 2003(2). And that concrete stand led to another victory.

The year 2006 when Pelosi led the Democrats to the final victory in House after 12 years made Nancy Pelosi the most influential woman ever, elected as the First Woman Speaker of the House.

She will be the talk of the town for the coming generation and decades as she remained in power exceptionally long enough, by regaining the role of Madam Speaker in 2018. As a woman who made statements through her actions. The most daring moment of Pelosi is when she ripped off President Trump’s speech calling it a speech of ‘Mistruths’.

Pelosi said that she enjoyed working with three presidents. Firstly would be George Bush, then Barack Obama, and last Joe Biden.

Pelosi is a female icon for women in politics. Nancy Pelosi’s advice to the young generation is ‘Know your power, be confident and understand that nothing is more important than you fulfilling your role for whatever it may be’. She continues to encourage the young female generation to be part of the decision-making process involved in society. Her stand is to create your own definition of power to stay in politics amidst the chaos.
