Rihanna Appears on Oscars Red Carpet in Spectacular Maternity Attire

A very pregnant Rihanna made her appearance on the Oscars red carpet yesterday showing off her baby bump in a sheer, form-fitting gown. The singer queen rocked the carpet in her bold and stunning maternity attire that surely turned heads and captured all eyes. After all, it is not often that you see a pregnant celebrity on the Oscars red carpet with her head held high in style.

Rihanna made her appearance in a jaw-dropping leather band dress by designer label Alaia and walked the stage exuding the power of maternity in every step.

The bold form-fitting gown which no one but Rihanna could pull off stood out like a match made in heaven, The attire consisted of a leather bra layered over a mesh turtleneck combined with a sheer form-fitting maxi skirt that sported thigh cutouts on the side and a dramatic train. 

High strappy heels along with bright red lips and nails and silver eyeshadows accentuated the show stopping skirt gown. Moussaieff High Jewlery and a hair up in a spiky bun accessorized and completed the look of stunning maternal beauty as the 2023 Oscars red carpet turned a champagne color for the night. 

The star is nominated for Best Original Song this time. The star released her first new music in five years in 2022 for the movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Her song “Lift Me Up” brought her the nomination for an Oscar in 2023 for Best Original Song.

Last month, Rihanna delivered a historic performance for her first Super Bowl Halftime Show, where she subtly announced that she is pregnant with her second child with Rocky, The Harlem-born hip-hop sensation. Rocky, professionally known as A$AP Rocky is also a name that has become increasingly synonymous with fashion. 

Rihanna is performing during the ceremony, singing “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, her nominated song. Rihanna confirmed the news on her Instagram on March 5 while sharing a new photo of her first child with A$AP Rocky.

“My son when he found out his sibling is going to the Oscars and not him @theacademy #oscarnominee #oscarperformancein1week swipe for tb of my fat man,” She wrote.

Rihanna had revealed during the Apple Music Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show press conference her initial thoughts on attending the Oscars with her baby bump:

.”When I first got the call to do it again this year, I was like, ‘You sure?’ Like, I’m three months postpartum, like, should I be making major decisions like this right now? Like, I might regret this,” she “But when you become a mom, there’s something that just happens where you feel like you could take on the world, you can do anything.”

She also made the following comment to Vogue for the magazine’s May 2022 cover story:

“When I found out I was pregnant, I thought to myself, ‘There’s no way I’m going to go shopping in no maternity aisle.’ I’m sorry — it’s too much fun to get dressed up, 

“I’m not going to let that part disappear because my body is changing.”

Rihanna was spotted in three different stunning looks on the day around the time of her appearance.

First she was videoed in a gray Eagles T-shirt, black Vans sneakers, an olive green bucket hat, a matching tote bag, and sunglasses.

Following this, she was seen stepping onto the red carpet, in the Alaïa ensemble composed of  the elegant gown redefining maternity fashion in a never-before seen look that was complemented by her attitude.

As she returned to her seat, behold, there was Rihanna in yet another outfit. The singer came in a Bottega Veneta look, custom-made siren green off-the-shoulder silk bustier and skirt, a shearling stole set, and leather gloves to match.

Rihanna and rapper A$AP Rocky already have one son, born in May 2022. Her entry to the Oscars made fans reminisce about her first pregnancy in 2022 when she showed off her baby bump during a stroll through Harlem with Rocky.

During the first pregnancy, Rihanna had also flaunted her baby bump gracing the cover of Vogue’s May issue in a red lace body suit.

The pop star headlined the Super Bowl LVII halftime show for the first time in 2023, during which she revealed she is pregnant with her second child. Rihanna and A$AP Rocky tied the knot in the music video for his new single, “D.M.B.,” which was released in 2022. Rocky, whose real name goes Rakim Athelaston Mayers had previously dated model Kendall Jenner.
