Sarah Fergusson has officially been diagnosed with malignant melanoma,
a really fatal form of skin cancer. After successfully undergoing treatment for breast cancer in July 2023, Sarah finds herself in the grip of yet another nearly incurable disease.

The Second Cancer Diagnosis for the Duchess

Ex-wife of the crown prince is constantly being chased by these diseases that have near to no cure with our current medical advancement.

During the initial mammogram and subsequent diagnosis of breast cancer last summer, her dermatologist instructed the removal of a few of her moles during the reconstructive surgery after her mastectomy for further analysis. Later on, one of those was effectively found to be cancerous.

As per her request, the official confirmation was delivered by her spokesperson(1), to inform her people and inspire them by her relentless fights.

The spokesperson also encouraged the general public, in accordance with Sarah’s wishes, to check the overall structural parameters of their pre-existing and emerging moles. Melanoma has a high success rate in treatment if diagnosed in the early stages.

Furthermore, the spokesperson expressed that Sarah’s current situation involves awaiting further analysis to make sure the fatal disease is still in its initial stages. Once confirmed, her treatment will begin as soon as possible.

Although it is a little distressing to face another disease in such a short period of time, Sarah still remains in good spirits.

Another cancer diagnosis within a short interval of 6 months is too much to deal with. However, as a resilient person who had her willpower tested last summer, Sarah is hopeful about overcoming it with the support and care of her family.

Three Medical Procedures in a Week

Sarah Ferguson, the former wife of Prince Andrew (Duke of York), is a prominent television personality who is affectionately called “Fergie” by the British general populace. She is part of the extended British royal family and is mother to Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

She stepped down from her royal duties after divorcing Prince Andrew in 1996.
Although not a royal on paper, she still continues her charity ventures under Sarah’s trust.

They still stay together at the Royal Lodge even after the divorce and Prince Andrew’s step down from royal duties due to his connection with the late Jeffrey Epstein, who was involved in a sex scandal in the US.

This is the third medical procedure announced by the royal family this week.

The royal family and its extensions all are facing a series of health issues one after another. Catherine, Princess of Wales is still recuperating in the hospital after her abdominal surgery.

Meanwhile, King Charles is awaiting treatment for an enlarged prostate which he had publicized as a means to reduce the stigma surrounding such a nuanced medical condition, urging others to do the same.
