Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden Welcome Their Second Baby

Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden welcomed a new member to their family. The star couple shared the news of the arrival of their second child, a baby boy through a joint Instagram post on Friday. The couple has a 4-year-old daughter, Raddix, whom they welcomed on December 30, 2019.

The Heartfelt Instagram Post

The heartfelt post that carried the big reveal held all the emotions and happiness of Diaz and Madden. In the caption, they mentioned that they are blessed and excited to announce the birth of their son Cardinal Madden. They also wrote that he was awesome and that they were happy about his arrival. The couple also said they wouldn’t post pictures of the baby due to the kid’s safety and privacy, but mentioned that he was “really cute”. They shared that they were feeling blessed and thankful. The couple concluded the caption by sending their love to everyone.

The post came along with a drawing that conveyed “A little bird whispered to me”. The surprise reveal received warm support from their family members and fans. Benji’s brother Joel Madden commented red hearts and Pete Wentz posted sparkling emojis along with numerous comments from the fans and audience.

Diaz In Her Motherhood

Diaz first experienced motherhood with the arrival of their daughter Raddix in late 2019. The news was revealed by the couple through a similar Instagram post.  They began the caption by wishing the new year to everyone. They wrote that they were happy, blessed, and grateful to begin a new decade with the arrival of their daughter Raddix Madden. To protect Raddix’s privacy, Diaz and Madden, like Cardinal, have not shared any images of her. Despite this, Diaz continues to wax poetic about her life as a mother.

In an interview in July 2020, Diaz praised motherhood by saying that she had entered the best phase of her life in the past seven months. She also said that the quarantine of 2020 was heaven with her infant. She also shared their jamming sessions with the baby where they mixed Baby Shark and Sesame Street jams. 

She recounted that people had always advised her to cherish the time when babies are young, emphasizing how quickly it passes. She noted that every day brings noticeable progress and changes in her baby, remarking that the child is different from the previous day.

In an interview, Diaz praised Madden as the “ultimate dad”. She said that at home he is Benj, who takes care of the children and manages his business and then transforms into a rockstar when he steps on the stage. She said it was amazing to watch him perform. In another interview, Diaz gushed about Madden’s talent and special moments with their daughter. She said that he is incredibly creative. She added that he should create a kids’ album as his songs are so catchy. Madden sings the songs to their daughter and Diaz mentioned it as the most heartwarming thing ever.

Diaz’s priorities have changed from her acting career to her family since becoming a mother. She expressed that when one is engaged in something they know well and have excelled in, and which has consumed their life for a considerable time, it can be beneficial to take a step back. Diaz suggested reflecting on the entirety of their situation and considering areas for improvement and greater engagement that would contribute to a sense of wholeness.
