Chynna Philip’s Incredible Pre-Wedding Conversation With Her Father

The celebrated singer star Chynna Philipes revealed her shocking conversion with her famous father, Johns Philips famed through The Mamas & The Papas. On the night before her wedding to Actor Billy, she confessed that she had an intense conversation with her father. She shared a video released through her YouTube channel titled “My Wedding Nightmare,” to recall the acute and emotional conversation with her dad. 

The previous night before walking down the aisle in 1995, Philips conversed with her father Johns, as she described it as “pretty earth-shattering,” sharing a lot more to the surface emotionally for both of them.  Philips was broken into tears all night and feeling numb from the astonishment. She explained in the video how she would weep and would go stoic repeatedly because her father had just revealed some impactful information to her and how she felt blindsided by that.

The Earth-Shaking Confession

However, she did not reveal the details of her father’s confession while Philips believes the timing for the confession was connected to him walking her down the aisle with her mother for the wedding. She felt her father wanted to be frank to her and to be honest before handing her away. Philipse did not think that it was any coincidence that he was walking her down the aisle with her mother and she had felt he wanted to come clean before he prepared me for the wedding spot. She felt that he felt he needed to do it so because it was genuine. 

Even though the conversation left her in a state of embarrassment, Philips still took the conversation as one of the priceless and genuine talks she rarely had with her celebrity father. She felt like she was on “autopilot” during her wedding ceremony while she was trying to sink into the situation. 

Philips has several half-siblings from her father’s multiple marriages including singer Mackenzie Philips. Earlier she had infamously revealed in her 2009 memoir that she had a 10-year-old consensual sexual relationship with their father John since she was 19. 

In another video, Philips and Mackenzie reflected on their troubled childhood and family affairs. Philips opened up that obviously her father was an amazing songwriter and she loved his laugh but there was that whole other side to her dad that he was mean and kind of like a monster. He was so dark and was quite unpredictable, according to her. 

In her video, Chynna Philips described the pre-wedding conversation as a defining moment in her life that changed her forever. Although she did not disclose the specifics, her father’s shocking revelation clearly had a significant impact on Philips, on the pre-wedding night.

Philips and actor Billy Baldwin got married in 1995 and are parents to three children. In another video published recently, the couple conversed about going through a six-month separation period over the last decade but they succeeded in repairing the patches by working through their marital issues.

Evidently, Chynna Phillips was still reeling from an emotionally devastating revelation from her father that happened just hours before she walked down the aisle to marry Baldwin. His deathbed confession had a profound impact on their relationship and Philip’s psyche as well.
