The 66th Grammy Awards witnessed another miraculous fashion statement. SZA showed two unique styles on the stage, skipping the red carpet altogether. While accepting the award, she wore a trench coat-based dress for her performance and a sheer dress for the awards.
The Casual Artist’s Style
No other artist like SZA could casually release hit after hit without much aspiration. She casually became the most-nominated artist at this year’s Grammy Awards. She performed “Snooze” and Kill Bill on the Grammy’s stage.
The 34-year-old started her performance with a small intro and came to the stage in a sleeveless black top, a long leather trench coat, wide cargo pants, and a wide hat. She took the crowd in her hands with her magnificent performance, surrounded by flame pillars, trashcans, and lights that gave an overall illusion of terror and metallic luster.
She began her performance with “Snooze” and removed her leather trench coat and hat for her iconic performance of “Kill Bill.” After such a grand performance, she slipped backstage to change her dress to receive the award.
She came back to the stage in a high-neck long dress with a bejeweled accent. She enhanced her beauty with this dress that reminded people of illusions. The dressing up made her slightly late, as there was a slight pause after Lizzo announced “Snooze” for the Best R&B category.

She elaborated on her dilemma in her acceptance speech of needing some time to catch her breath due to the back-and-forth running to get changed for the award ceremony and drinking a shot to calm her nerves.
Saz’s team posted her attire and explained it was inspired by the statue of Venus de Milo. The designers used elaborate fabric painting and applique techniques to create this “Do Long Dress” masterpiece.
She also shared another outfit on her Instagram, thanking the Grammy team for this opportunity, in a stylish black velvet gown with a decorated neckline and matching gloves to go along with it.
Nominations and Awards
SZA was nominated for nine awards this year, turning heads. She earned her nine nods of creative encouragement thanks to “SOS,” a 21-track album, earning a nomination for Best Album and Best Progressive Album. “Kil Bill” was nominated for Song of the Year, Best R&B Performance, and Record of the Year. “Snooze” was nominated for Best R&B song.
Moreover, “Love Language” was nominated for the category of Best Traditional Performance, “Low” was nominated for Best Melodic Rap Performance, and her performance with Phoebe Bridgers in “Ghost in the Machine” was nominated for the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
SZA took home three of them, creating widespread acclaim for her skills and talent. She was awarded the Best R&B Song, Best Progressive R&B Album, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, which she shared with Phoebe Bridgers.
The singer-songwriter has expressed that she is thankful for her career’s growth and the various perks she has gained from it. She doesn’t necessarily wish for any more Grammys but she would be glad if they came along.
She also articulated that her wishes and dreams that made her create were fulfilled a long time ago; she has reached platinum status, which was not even in her wildest dreams, at least not that fast. She sold out tickets to her shows and met Stevie Wonder, Frank Ocean, and Beyonce.
She reminisced about her work with Beyonce, which was a huge turning point for her as she finally knew she had made it. She is grateful for the chance to bring her parents to various countries to watch her perform.
SZA feverishly expressed that she was given a lot more than she hoped for; she is simply grateful and watches how things will turn out. She was not all that sure her audience would like “SOS.”
She is currently working on her new album, “Lana,” which she shared on Instagram right after her anniversary post.
