2024 Grammys: The Ladies Ran The Show

With the presence of several celebrities, the 2024 Grammy Awards took the definition of entertainment to another level. One after the other, the stars took the stage and made the ceremony memorable with their dashing performances. This time, the venue was Arena in Los Angeles and it was hosted by renowned comedian Trevor Noah, who has been hosting the show for the fourth time consecutively.

Maria Carey, Dua Lipa, And Halle Bailey Amped Up Their Red-Carpet Style

Mariah Carey- in a gorgeous silver-shiny Schiaparelli gown and shiny heels evoked the Hollywood glam. Before entering the stage to award Miley Cirus, who took home her first Grammy that night, Carey had garnered the attention of the show attendees on the red carpet by making a show-stopping entry. The bodycon dress that she was wearing showcased her figure and that deep plunging neck was also one of the highlights of the ensemble. However, the large cut that began from the top of her left thighs to the floor added more glam to her complete look of that night. 

Carey is an example of how well-dressed ladies who attended the ceremony were. the American singer-songwriter and actress, Halle Bailey, also joined Music’s Biggest Night, as she was nominated for one of her songs. On the red carpet, the saga was asked how she was experiencing being a part of the music world right after her movie (Mermaid) success.  She responded to the question with a smile and said that ‘Angel’ was a love letter she wrote to herself throughout the years while filming. “It has been a beautiful new journey for me,” she added. 

In addition to Bailey, Dua Lipa was also spotted on the red carpet pre-show where she teased her upcoming song, ‘Training Season.” While speaking with host Laverne Cox, the pop superstar opened up about the inspiration behind her forthcoming song which is due on Feb 15. Cox first asked the “Levitating” singer about the forthcoming track by referring to the social media post she made. 

In the teaser, a few lyrics were released that read “ I need a man who takes control. I do not want to teach him anything.” Cox bought the lyrics into their conversation and inquired what Lipa meant by that. “They gotta come correct,’ the singer dressed in a custom silver Courreges replied. To clear the air surrounding Lipa’s ‘Training Season,’ the host further asked if the song was about someone she was looking for or someone who had been in her life before.

“I’m like done training someone up,” the British singer quipped. “It’s about training season being over.” She then confirmed that “Training Day” will be followed by a full-length album. “It’s coming soon,” she remarked. 

Dua opened the Grammy Awards 2024 with her mesmerizing performance on Training Season, the song that she announced on Jan 15 via an Instagram post that featured the singer hanging on a metal bar with her red hair flowing freely. The show also included a few other stunning performances such as a duet of “Fast Car” by Luke Combs and Tracy Chapman and one power-packed performance by Billie Eilish and brother Finneas earning a standing ovation and a live performance of the debut of Miley Cyrus’s “Flowers’ that bagged the gramophone for best pop solo performance.
