Kelly Osbourne Revealed The Fight With Her Partner Over Her Son’s Last Name

Kelly Osbourne recalled when she had a huge fight with her boyfriend Sid Wilson, over naming their baby boy. The ex-Fashion Police host shared that she and the Slipknot turntablist disagreed about hyphenating their 15-month-old son’s last name with both surnames. It is the first time the reality star is opening up about this issue publicly on The Osbournes podcast with her parents, Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne.

The Biggest Fight

While on the chat with her parents, Kelly revealed the details of the fight she had with her partner. Kelly said that it was the biggest fight she had ever had with her baby’s father. She also believes that it would be the biggest fight she will ever have with her partner and it was over naming their baby.   Kelly wanted her son to have both their last names. But Sid was against it. He rejected her idea and stuck on to adding only his last name. This argument turned into the biggest fight she had with Sid. She recalled that she felt she was forced into doing something she did not want to do. 

Kelly mentioned her initial desire was for a “double-barrelled last name” for their son, Sid. However, due to her partner’s traditional family background, they faced difficulties in deciding it. After engaging in enlightening discussions and undergoing couples therapy, her partner has now agreed to legally change their son’s name to incorporate both of their last names. She said that after several eye-opening discussions and couple therapy, “he saw the light”. 

The reality star spoke about her demur as her son shared most of his names with her partner Sid’s name. She had an issue with not including her family’s name along with it. Kelly said that she loved her son’s name. She loved him being Sid. She also said that she has no problem with the son and father sharing the same middle names. She explained that her issue was solely for not including her family’s name along with it. 

Kelly also explained her reasoning for the decision they made. She said that the baby belonged to both of them and he was made by both partners. Therefore, she believed that the baby should have both their last names as one parent is not more important than the other. Kelly also said that Sid’s decision was more about pleasing his family than pleasing her and she emphasized that she is his partner.

Sharon agreed with her daughter on the last name issue. She felt that it was a very dated thing. She said that it was a very dated thing and a very dated mentality. 

Kelly and Sid have been together since the beginning of 2022. They welcomed their son in late 2022. Since having the baby boy, the star has shared numerous snaps of the baby on her social media. She revealed the news of her pregnancy through her Instagram account with a picture of her posing with her ultrasound scan.
