Sharon Osbourne Shares She Attempted Suicide After Learning of Husband Ozzy’s Affair

The British-American TV personality and music manager Sharon Osbourne recently revealed her mental health in her one-woman show “Sharon Osbourne: Cut the Crap.” She daringly talked about the struggles she went through after learning about her husband Ozzy Osbourne’s long-term extramarital affair with Michelle Pugh, a hairdresser.

Sharon Osbourne Opens Up More About Her Struggles

She caught the 4-year affair back in 2016 and was so distraught that she ended up attempting suicide. In a recent interview in London, she explained to journalist Jane Moore about how she ended up overdosing herself with pills.  The TV personality who is the mother of three- Aimee, 40, Jack, 38, and Kelly, 39 said she locked herself in the bedroom after taking multiple pills altogether. According to her, it was the maid who first saw her when she came to clean the room. 

Back in the same year, the couple had parted ways causing the 75-year-old English musician to become a sex addict. In August of that year, Sharon appeared in the show “The Talk” and disclosed that her husband had been outpatient for sex addiction.

She also added that after the tour, he will go into in-patient for a few months. She openly expressed how embarrassing it is to talk about the condition her husband is affected with and also added that it has been adversely affecting her family which consists of grown-up kids.

She wasn’t willing to talk about the private matter before the media until this Sunday. However, she finally took the courage to open up about the moment she learned about Osbourne’s previous affair and her tragic and devastating fallout. She added that after learning about Osbourne’s infidelity she took so many pills that she forgot the count.  She confessed that she took many pills. The decision came after she realized that her children are all independent and hence she felt like they would be able to take care of themselves.

The Journey from Adultery to Vow Renewal

The two were married for more than 30 years during 2016 and infidelity came as a surprise, shaking everything they had in between them. In the same year, it was revealed that they were considering a divorce. However, after the Black Sabbath frontman returned from the rehabilitation center for sex addiction, the two were reportedly reconciled by taking renewed wedding vows in an intimate ceremony in Las Vegas. The ceremony was a year after they sparked separation rumors.

Immediately after the wedding vows, Osbourne encountered the media and said that for him, it was the “real wedding day” as he would remember it as their original wedding. By confronting the reality, Osbourne admitted to the reporters that he made a huge mistake and that his wife had been through a lot during the last year. He further added that without Sharon, he would be an absolute “nothing.”  Further, he added that he never loved anybody other than his wife.

Just months after the reconciliation, Sharon opened up about the infidelity of her husband and revealed that “there wasn’t just one of them, but 6 of them.” However, the illegitimate relationship with the hairdresser came more as a shock for her as it lasted for four years. Also, she told the media that she was stunned by the fact that none of the six women whom he cheated with were into show ponies. Following that, Osbourne also admitted his betrayal in a 2020 interview with British GQ.
