All About Lady Rose Hanbury: The Marchioness of Cholmondeley

Marchioness of Cholmondeley, Rose Hanbury is widely praised for her fashion sense over the years. The former model, who is married to David Rocksavage, 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley has been recently linked in cheating rumors with Prince William.

The Cheating Rumors That Appeared On And Off

Due to several factors, cheating rumors have come up around Rose Hanbury and Prince William over the past few years. Different reports like, the two lives just blocks away from one another and the two couples appearing together in public have added fuel to the rumors. Rose Hanbury and Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, mysteriously drifted away from their years-old friendship as the rumors strengthened over time.  

Although the Palace has refuted these reports, they continue to circulate. The fact that Hanbury’s son Oliver was a major participant in King Charles’ coronation ceremony in 2023 and that the royal family is still close with her, however, dispels the suspicions. Despite the rumors, Rose is said to be a well-known member of the Cambridge inner circle.

But, the reports suggested that the rumors had not negatively affected the relationship between Middleton and William. According to the reports, it strengthened the connections as they forced the couple to sit back and examine their relationship. This made them realize that they should engage in more such talking sessions. Other sources reveal that the royal couple is going strong and the rumors have not affected their relationship as they consider their family and kids the important things in their lives.

Who Is Rose Hanbury?

Sarah Rose Hanbury, 39, a former model was once a researcher for Conservative MP Michael Gove. She was born into the family of fashion designer Emma Hanbury and website designer Timothy Hanbury. Her maternal grandmother, Lady Elizabeth Lambert, was one of the eight bridesmaids in the late Queen Elizabeth II’s marriage to the Duke of Edinburgh, establishing her connections to the royal family that span several generations.

Rose was enrolled at the highly esteemed Stowe School before enrolling at The Open University in England. Although her chosen degree remains undisclosed, many assume that because of her subsequent professional choices, she went into politics.
Currently, Rose lives with her husband David Rocksavage, and their children at Houghton Hall, a Grade I-listed stately home in Norfolk. Rose is a mother to her three children, twins Alexander Hugh George Cholmondeley, Earl of Rocksavage, and Lord Oliver Timothy George Cholmondeley, both 15, and daughter Lady Iris Marina Aline Cholmondeley, aged eight. Rose first met her husband, Lord Marchioness while on a vacation in Italy in 2009. The couple who has a 23-year age gap revealed their engagement news after six years. The engagement was announced just a day before the function which was held at Chelsea Town Hall in 2009.

Hanbury’s Shift To Houghton Hall

In an interview last April, Rose shared her life at the 106-room estate, the Houghton Hall. She revealed that the shift was difficult at first. Hanbury said that she took a while to feel comfortable and adjust to the new house. She said that the house changes as the family is added to it. She also mentioned the changes she incorporated to change the estate from a house to a home. 

While asked about the challenges of maintaining a huge estate, Rose replied that “constantly keeping an eye on things” and seeking expert advice were the major things she had to handle, which she did with pride and care. She also praised her husband and the team which maintained things very well.

She seems to be in charge of running the Houghton Hall Instagram account and periodically posts pictures of her kids and husband playing in the gardens and grounds.

Rose has made headlines recently for her dazzling attire at royal events, including the 2017 State Supper at Buckingham Palace, where she sat near Prince Harry. She also went to the crowning of King Charles III and Queen Camilla in May of last year. She wore a black bow at the neck of her white dress, which had striking black details. She accessorized it with a matching brooch, drop diamond earrings, bow heels, and a veiled headband.
