Keke Palmer Clarifies Her Future: Not Planning To Retire Anytime Soon

The 30-year-old American actress, singer, and TV host Lauren Keyana “Keke Palmer” made her statement clear that when she talked about quitting the business earlier this year, she was talking about 2 decades later not sooner. She also explained she wanted to explore other areas of her career before stepping back.

She said slowing down according to her was trying out other areas like producing, directing, and doing more work other than being only in front of the camera. She also made it clear that while people took what she said literally, she was actually thinking of retiring 20 years from now, not right away.

Palmer who has been in the entertainment industry since she was a teen explained that even if she does slow down she will still be working in the entertainment but does not wish to be bound to some hectic schedule like she is now in.

The “Nope” star made her acting debut in Barbershop 2: Back in Business in 2004 from which she took up various roles including the title character in the sitcom True Jackson VP on Nickelodeon.

Keke shared she wants to do things for a long time but not like 3 movies a year. She also stated how grateful she was for getting the opportunity to do that many movies but at the same time she said she was not sure of doing that forever.

The actress who had her first child with ex-partner Jackson in 2023 has previously stated that the timer on her career was almost up and she wasn’t sure when she would step back from the industry.
