Lady Gaga Revives Butterfly Eyeliner Style

Lady Gaga is a starlet and a mega fashion icon. She never disappoints with her innovative takes on make-up and fashion. Over the years, the Bad-romance singer has served a spectrum of awe-inspiring looks that left people stunned.

From her poker face era when Gaga flaunted platinum blonde wings, bold eyeliners, glittery eyeshadows, and bright lip colors to her Born This Way era when the 37-year-old singer and actor sported leather, lace, studs, and chains!

Lady Gaga Brings Back The “Butterfly Eyeliner” Style From The 2000s.

You see Gaga does not shy away from going crazy with her outfits, beauty, and fashion choices. Whether it is taking inspiration from alien themes to getting comfortable in denim and t-shirts, she slays with every look.

Lady Gaga New Makeup Look

But what caught us staring at her for long (and made us nostalgic) is her latest gothic-kind make-up look. In a recent Instagram post, from her brand’s IG page – Haus Labs, the singer-actor-and beauty mogul posted a selfie of her full-face make-up glam. Credits to her MUA, Sarah Tanno.

Of course, Gaga looked stunning with her flawless skin, thick brows, and neutral lips(1). However, something that stole the show was her butterfly eyeliner. I mean, it’s elegant and punk vibey at the same time. Not to forget that this look was prominently popular in the late 1990s- early 00s.

The post caption read, “New founder selfie just dropped! 💥 @ladygaga wears Optic Intensity Eco Eyeliner in ‘Black Onyx Matte’”. The eyeliner pencil seems to have done a mind-blowing job.

This make-up trend is not a new one. It was popular in the noughties and even had a name. It was called the ‘butterfly’ makeup trend. This trend was like the staple make-up of the 90s and was widely used in the Y2K fashion.

This makeup look could be achieved easily, especially if you’re using the creamy eyeliner pencil that Gaga used to achieve this look. Run the eyeliner pencil under your lower lash and connect it upwards to form a classic winged flick. Blend the eyeliner by smudging it with a fluffy makeup brush.

And there! You’ve got the Gaga-inspired gothic look.
