Maisie Williams recreates Dior's signature dress

Maisie Williams has recreated Dior’s signature silhouette in a new manner that gives out her bold and charismatic personality, proving once and for all she has grown beyond her character in “Game of Thrones,” and she is more than ready to take on the mantle of Catherine Dior in her new series “New Look.”

Homage to Christian Dior

Most of the cast members paid tribute to the mighty fashion designer Christain Dior, who was the founder of the Dior company that we know today. Based on whom they have created the series.

Maisie Williams paid her part through her monochromatic dress, which dazzled the audience, leaving them wondering if this was the same girl who played Arya Stark in the most influential series of our time.

She wore a signature dress from the ‘New Look,” which included a small curved shoulder, a tightened waist, and a voluminous skirt to complete the outfit. She revamped the original design into a new version.

Williams wore a black colored dress made out of leather, which oozed with a shawl effect that draped across her shoulders and wrapped across her waist. She completed her whole get-up with a short skirt that was almost midi-sized.

She enhanced her dress’s monochromatic effect by wearing black tights and transparent gloves in an almost black pleated style. Along with those, she wore pointed black high heels and a leather beret.

She used minimal accessories and makeup to get almost a regal recreation of that era by only wearing a diamond earring, a soft bronze eye shadow for regality, and a deep red matte lipstick.

The 26-year-old actress came with her cast, almost reminding you of a periodic drama, her co-stars Juliette Binoche and Tod A. Kessler also wore caps, reminding you of an era long forgotten.

Although both women paid homage, they deviated in their execution. Juliette chose a dress that had a round neckline with a shawl effect, she opted for a maximum-length dress that exhibited a form-fitting, curve-defining style.

Glenn Close also came to the venue in an almost significant Dior dress, that had a black colored blazer and a fully pleated skirt, along with a pair of black glows to go with them.

The three women came to the premiere along with co-stars Claes Bang, Ben Mendelsohn, and John Malkovich.

The “New Look”

These star-crossed entertainers are giving their all to create an era-defining ten episodes that focus on the revolutionary change in fashion sewn by the hands of Christian Dior during the time of the Second World War.

The story closely follows the designers Christain Dior (Mendelsohn), Coco Chanel (Binoche), Pierre Balmain (Thomas Poitevin), and Cristobal Balenciaga (Nuna Lops), who all fight together and against each other for the overall advancement of the fashion industry during such horrendous situations.

Williams has made tremendous efforts to bring out the character of Catherine Dior, as she had to lose about 25 pounds to get to a similar figure to that of the original person. Although it was under the complete monitoring of doctors with daily blood tests and all.

It still impacted her health and well-being, mostly her sleep cycle, which in turn caused her to endure nightmares, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it gave Williams a perspective on PTSD and helped her get into the character of Catherine much more easily.
