The soul singer, Mavis Staples announced the news of her 85th birthday celebration on Monday. Mavis turns 85 on the 10th of July, this year. On this occasion, she plans to stage an all-star event on 18 April. On the day, Staples along with her star lineup will take over Inglewood, California’s YouTube Theater

The lineup for the event is what excites the audience. The event will feature Chris Stapleton, Jackson Browne, Michael McDonald, Jeff Tweedy, Norah Jones, Hozier, Taj Mahal, Robert Randolph, Nathaniel Rateliff, Keb’ Mo’, Black Pumas, Grace Potter and the War and Treaty. Staples’s performance turns out to be the major attraction of the event. The list confirms that the musicians were selected on a sentimental basis. All the stars included have already revealed the influence of Mavis Staples in their musical journey.

This realization led her to organize the birthday show along with her fellow friends.
The public sale of tickets for the show will go live on Friday, 16 February.
