Elizabeth Banks Says She Is Terrified Of Injectables

Elizabeth Banks gets vocal about cosmetic procedures and aging in an interview with People. The 49-year-old actor and director explained why she would prioritize beauty products and a good lifestyle over beauty treatments such as injectables to make her skin feel good. She is ready to do any anti-injectibles, including workouts, diet, and other non-invasive methods, to achieve her goals

“I’ve never put a needle in my face,” said the Call Jane actress. “And by the way, most people do it and truly, there’s no judgment.”

Further, she explains the reasons behind not getting poked by Injections, saying, “But I make my living with my face. And basically, I’m terrified of f-cking it up,”

Elizabeth Banks opened up about her more holistic approach to skincare. The actor and director added that she would get cosmetic procedures done on her when her “self-esteem is a little lower”.

“It’s a mental thing, too,” she said. “When I start thinking about messing with my face, it’s because my self-esteem is a little lower, and that’s usually because I’m not taking care of myself.”

She further explains how a good lifestyle makes her and her skin feel good – “When I’m exercising and eating well and feeling good about myself, and am confident, like ‘Did I make a good decision today? Did I mom the s-it out of my kids today?’ That’s when I think I look and feel amazing.”

Elizabeth Banks proves that age is just a number by flaunting her flawless skin even at the age of 49. Her skin is admired so much so that she was recently announced as the celebrity ambassador of No.7, a UK-based brand owned by Boots, that develops anti-ageing creams, and cosmetic & skincare products. 

Banks shares how she loves the “accessible” aspect of No.7 – “I really have always used drugstore products, to be honest,” she says. “Whenever I had the $350 cream, I’d be like, ‘Okay, just a little around the eyes — don’t waste it.’ But then you realize I need more moisture.” That’s where this brand comes in. “You don’t have to use it sparingly, it’s not breaking the bank.”

While talking about the aging process, Elizabeth expresses her excitement about turning 50 next February. 

“I’ve been thinking about it as the midpoint,” says the No.7 Ambassador. “And I just can’t believe I get a whole second life after this. Isn’t that crazy? And the first half of my life was having to learn everything and make money and put a foundation underneath me. Now I have all that, and this knowledge base, and so I really feel more powerful than I’ve ever felt before.”

…and then she hysterically compares her 40s with her upcoming 50’s. 

“I literally felt men look at me and be like, ‘Oh, you can’t make me a baby anymore. I don’t need you. It felt primal, like suddenly I wasn’t a sexual being anymore, and in a way that rocked me. Which, by the way, of course, I was already married for years at this point. But now I’m like, whatever — no one’s trying to have sex with me. And who cares? I let that go long ago.”
